Robotic surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System

Precision surgery. Personalised care.

What is the da Vinci® Surgical System?

The da Vinci® Surgical System represents one of the most significant advancements in modern urological surgery.

By combining the expertise of an experienced surgeon with highly advanced robotic technology, it allows complex procedures to be performed with exceptional precision through minimally invasive techniques.

The da Vinci robotic surgical system in theatre

The da Vinci Surgical System is an advanced robotic-assisted surgical platform designed to enhance the surgeon’s vision, precision and control during minimally invasive procedures.

Instead of making one large incision, robotic surgery is performed through several small keyhole incisions. Miniature surgical instruments and a high-definition 3D camera are inserted through these openings, giving your surgeon a magnified view of the surgical field and allowing movements beyond what the human hand alone can achieve.

Despite its name, the robot never operates on its own.

Every movement is performed entirely under the control of your surgeon, who sits at a nearby console and guides the robotic instruments in real time.

The technology simply translates the surgeon’s hand movements into smaller, more precise movements inside the body.

The technology offers

  • High-definition 3D magnified vision
  • Wristed instruments that move with greater dexterity than the human wrist
  • Motion scaling for enhanced precision
  • Tremor filtration for greater stability
  • Excellent access to delicate anatomical structures

For patients, this means

The result is greater precision during surgery while helping preserve surrounding nerves, muscles and healthy tissue whenever possible.

Less pain

Less blood loss

A shorter hospital stay

A quicker return to everyday life
